Service on Temple Square!

January 21st

Hello Family and Friends -
Another week since last p-day has come and gone all too quickly.  AND - this is the last week of the January transfer, so I don't know when I'll write next week.  Anyways - here is my weekly report.
Thursday 1/14 - That night we worked our night shifts in our work zone.
Friday 1/15 - We spent the day and night working in our work zones.
Saturday 1/16 - We worked in our zones during the day and played sports at night (YES, I actually PLAYED dodgeball, and it wasn't that bad haha!).
Sunday 1/17 - We went to Music and the Spoken Word - MLK Day Special with Alex Boye as the special guest.  We then went to our church meetings.
Monday 1/18 - We got to have the day off since our offices were closed.  So that morning we played some sports, and then our AP's (Assistant to the President!) gave us a presentation on the history of our mission and watched another film.  That night we had our District Meeting.
Tuesday 1/19 - We worked our usual day/night shifts in our work zones.
Wednesday 1/20 - We had our monthly Young Elders Mission Conference which was good as always.  We were supposed to meet in the JSMB Relief Society Room, but because that was reserved, we relocated to the chapel (which was right in front of the Relief Society Room!).  We then worked in our zones and had our mission choir rehearsal in the afternoon.

Thursday 1/21 - We already went shopping and did our laundry so far today.
It's been another exciting and busy week.  Hope everyone has an awesome week.  Love you all! :)

PS -Why does it ALWAYS snow at Cabaret time?  Maybe mother nature is telling Dana something haha.  I heard from Kristy that you all had a snow day today - first one this year I think?  I bet all the cast is freaking out right now.  I will pray for not alot of snow.  I think they should do the show the weekend after Districts (unless that is when the Pyramid Concerts are scheduled for - when are the Pyramid Concerts scheduled for?).  How did Jacob do on his Godspell audition?  I'm sure that Carter and Jacob will have some snow day work that their teachers will assign them.  Of course the "biggest" snowstorm in NOVA happens when I'm on my mission.  If I had been home I maybe would have been able to experience it (unless I was at school haha!).  Hopefully after my mission I'll get to experience a HUGE snowstorm (as long as it's during Christmas 2017!).

Happy New Year

Hello Family and Friends -

Another busy and great week has come and gone too quickly.  Here's what happened to me this week.

Thursday 12/31 - That night we had a pizza dinner and then played sports.

Friday 1/1 - We got up and then we were given a bedbug prevention lecture, then we cleaned our apartments, played sports, and then watched a few films in the Stake Center Relief Society Room. We have to have our beds at least 6 inches away from the wall (which I do NOT like AT ALL haha!).  They also brought in a dog to smell our apartments, which we were NOT allowed to be in our apartments for (not even for lunch!), everything had to be turned off (meaning the fans!), and nobody was allowed to use the oven or stove to make breakfast.  In the end, we found out only 4 apartments had bedbugs and we were NOT one of them - we got rid of all our bedbugs last month.

Saturday 1/2 - We worked in our work zones during the day and then had a driver's meeting and sports that night.

Sunday 1/3 - We got up, went to Music and the Spoken Word, then church, and then we had a fireside where we got to hear from our mission president's wife about her experience singing in the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and a little about her role as the mission mom.

Monday 1/4 - We got up at 5am so we could make it to our mission choir practice on time, and then had our Monday Morning Devotional.  We then worked in our zones during the day and had District Meeting that night.

Tuesday 1/5 - We worked in our regular day and night work zones.

Wednesday 1/6 - We worked in our zones and also had our apartment inspections, which we did really well on.  We also had our mission choir practice yesterday afternoon.
We have transfers again in about 2 1/2 weeks and we go to the temple next week.  Our mission choir is also singing at the Senior Mission Conference next week.

Thursday 1/7 - We already did our shopping and laundry so far today.

It's been a great start to the New Year - I'm really looking forward to doing the Lord's work in 2016.  Love you all and have a great week! :)
