Michael's letter - 4/18

Hello Family and Friends!
Happy 2nd half of February.  It's been another good and busy week here.  AND - it's also the last week of this month's transfer - so I'm not sure when I'm writing next, so stay tuned haha.  Here's my week in a nutshell.
Thursday 2/11 - We worked our normal shifts on Thursday night.
Friday 2/12- We spent the day and night working our shifts in our zones.
Saturday 2/13 - We worked during the day.  My companion made cranberry/cherry pork and for someone who has NEVER had cranberries and cherries before, the food was really good.  We then played sports and I got a new haircut.
Sunday 2/14 - We went to see Music and the Spoken Word in the morning - normally the choir does a broadcast relating to Valentines Day and President's Day.  Even though Sunday was Valentine's Day the choir did a President's Day special.  We then had choir practice and church - and we (the branch choir!) sang in Sacrament Meeting on Sunday.
Monday 2/15- We did not work on Monday because of President's Day.  Instead we watched a film called the Fires of Faith and also played some sports.  We had our regular district meeting that night.
Tuesday 2/16 - We went back to working our regular shifts after the long weekend.  Our mission choir sang at the Senior Mission Conference both Tuesday and yesterday which was fun.  Because my companion is not a choir member, I had to do a temporary companionship exchange on Tuesday and I was in a temporary tripanionship yesterday so we could still have coverage in our work zones and so I could sing with the choir.
Wednesday 2/17- We worked and also went to our monthly temple trip.  We also have had some warm weather the past couple days (upper 50's maybe even lower 60's!).  We also had our choir performance at the Senior Mission Conference and also our regular Wednesday rehearsal.
Thursday 2/18- We already did our shopping and our laundry today.
SO - that was my super exciting, busy, and hardworking week in a nutshell.  Hope everyone has a super excellent week! :)

Valentines Day

 Hello Family and Friends -

Happy (ALMOST!) Valentine's Day!  This past week has come and gone all too quickly once again.  It's been another good week here this week.  Here's what happened to me this week.
Thursday 2/4- We worked our regular night shifts in our work zones that night.
Friday 2/5 - We worked our normal shifts that day - I also got some new shoes since the ones I was wearing previously got really OLD.
Saturday 2/6- We worked during the day and then had our sports activity that night.
Sunday 2/7 - We saw Music and the Spoken Word in the morning, had branch choir practice, had church, and then we had a Young Elders Fireside.  For the fireside, we were taught by a church employee at the Church History Library and it was really good.
Monday 2/8 - We got up at 5am so I could make the mission choir rehearsal on time.  Our director had me sing a solo as part of the song we sang and I think it went really well.  We also had our Monday devotional, worked in our zones, and then had Zone Conference that night.
Tuesday 2/9- We worked our regular shifts in our work zones and it was a pretty busy day.
Wednesday 2/10 - We (the young elders!) had our picture taken early in the morning.  We then had our Young Elders Conference and it was really good.  We then worked and had choir practice in the afternoon.
Thursday 2/11- We've already done shopping and laundry so far today.  Even though it's p-day today our zone also fed us lunch and it was really good.
As mentioned before - it's been a great week here.  Hard to believe that 5 months has already gone.  Love you all and have a great week! :)

The 2nd picture was from our mission conference yesterday - I even wrote it down.  It was from our mission president's instruction - his lessons are ALWAYS very good.   The top picture is my view of the temple from my office.

It's So Great When Friends From Home run into my Elder!!!

February 4th

Hello Family and Friends -
HAPPY FEBRUARY!  It's been another busy and great week full of work and excitement.  Here's what happened to me this week.
Thursday 1/28 - We worked our night shifts in our work zones that night.
Friday 1/29- We spent the day and the night working our shifts in our work zones.
Saturday 1/30 - We worked in the morning and then hung around our apartment complex that night since we didn't have sports.  Fun thing though - my companion and I got to have ice cream with our senior coordinators - that was alot of fun.
Sunday 1/31- We went to see Music and the Spoken Word in the morning.  We then went to branch choir rehearsal and then immediately went to church.
Monday 2/1- We had to get up at 5am so I could get to choir practice on time.  We then had our weekly mission devotional, worked in our zones, and then had our District Meeting that night.  We also made a trip to Deseret Book which was fun as well.
Tuesday 2/2 - We spent the day and night working at our zone assignments.  We also had the opportunity to have a pizza party in between our shifts- it was definitely fun being with all the young elders and a few seniors who were serving the pizza.
Wednesday 2/3- We worked our shifts in our work zones and also had choir rehearsal yesterday afternoon.
Thursday 2/4 - So far today we have done our shopping and have ALMOST done our laundry.
As you can see it certainly has been a week full of business and fun.I think there will be lots of people in town for Rootstech.  All our church employees are in/out of the offices today and tomorrow because of it .I have a solo in the choir number at Monday's devotional which will be fun.   I also hit my 5 month mark in a few days- the time does nothing except FLY BY QUICKLY!  Next month (March!) I will have completed 1/4 of my mission which will be insane.  I LOVE being here in Salt Lake and on Temple Square boundaries.  Hope everyone has a great week.  Love you all! :)
