Aprils letters!

Hola Family and Friends,

This past week has been another really good week for me.  AND - this is the last week of this month's transfer, so I don't know exactly when I'll be emailing again.  I find it hard to believe how it's Thursday again.  Well here's my week in a nutshell.

Thursday 4/14 - We worked our normal night shifts in the work zone.

Friday 4/15 - We spent the day/night working our usual hours in our work zones.  We also saw some SNOWFLAKES in the morning (at least it was just a few snowflakes.  Last year in the middle of April in Utah it snowed 12 inches according to our mission mom!).

Saturday 4/16 - We worked during the day and then had the Saturday night session of Stake Conference.

Sunday 4/17 - We went to the rehearsal for Music and the Spoken Word and then we had the general session of Stake Conference.  That night we had a dinner appointment with some senior sisters, which was fun.

Monday 4/18 - We got up in the very early hour of 5am so we could make it to the mission choir rehearsal on time.  We then had our usual weekly devotional, worked, had district meeting, and then we had a district dinner, which was alot of fun.

Tuesday 4/19 - We spent the day/night working in our zones as usual.

Wednesday 4/20 - We went to the temple in the morning and then spent the remainder of the day working.  I also had our usual Wednesday PM choir rehearsal yesterday afternoon.

Thursday 4/21 - So far today we have gone shopping and done our laundry.

Hard to believe this month has flown by once again.  I hope everyone has another great week - and to those in the Herndon High School musical - best of luck this weekend! :)

Hola Family and Friends!

I can hardly believe that we're just about half way done with April already and I also cannot believe how it's p-day again (I swear I just had my last p-day haha!).  Well anyways it's been another great and VERY busy week.

Thursday 4/7 - We spent the evening working our regular shifts in the work zone.

Friday 4/8 - We worked our usual hours in our zones.

Saturday 4/9 - We worked as normal during the day and then we (finally!) had our evening sports activity.

Sunday 4/10 - We got up and saw both the rehearsal and the broadcast of Music and the Spoken Word (and as an extra treat, the Collegiate Singers from BYU-Idaho were the guest performers!).  I then had choir practice and then immediately after that we had our regular Sunday meetings.

Monday 4/11 - We got up early so we could make it to the mission choir practice on time (we get there before 6:15am every Monday morning!) and then we had the weekly mission devotional, worked in our zones, and then we had our zone conference that night.

Tuesday 4/12 - We worked our day and night shifts as usual and also the mission choir sang in the senior mission conference.

Wednesday 4/13 - Yesterday in the morning we had a Young Elder mission conference - in which we talked alot about making goals which is definitely important for everyone.  Afterwards I went to sing with the choir at the senior mission conference.  We then had the usual weekly Wednesday choir practice.

Thursday 4/14 - We already went shopping and did our laundry this morning.

As you can see it's been an exciting and busy week.  Looking forward to another exciting and hard-working week this coming week.  Love you all and enjoy the coming week! :)

Hello Family and Friends!
Happy April - and I can FINALLY say that it's been a great week full of Spring-like weather.  Once again I cannot believe it's already p-day again.  Here's my week in a nutshell!
Thursday 3/31 - We worked our normal night shifts in the work zone.
Friday 4/1 - We worked in our work zones in the day and evening as usual.
Saturday 4/2 - We spent the day watching the Saturday sessions of General Conference.  It was especially fun seeing the BYU-Idaho choirs sing (and especially seeing my cousin sing with them!) on Saturday afternoon.  We were able to see ALL of the Saturday sessions in the Conference Center - which was really fun.
Sunday 4/3 - We started the morning with a pancake breakfast with our district at our apartment.  One of our elders has a family recipe of Sourdough Pancakes, and it tasted REALLY good.  We then went to see Music and the Spoken Word in the Conference Center and then saw the Sunday sessions of conference.  We saw the morning session in the Conference Center and then the afternoon session in the North Visitor's Center on Temple Square. I saw Aaron Foechterle and his girlfriend (I forgot her name)at the Saturday morning session, Fabiana Flores (from Spring Lake) at the Saturday afternoon session, and Caroline Drasbek on Temple Square (and of course David Bright in line on Sunday morning!).  I also saw a few people I recognized from the BYU-I choir (including of course Jenn!).  It was also fun seeing Sis. Ashby conducting the congregational hymn as well.
Monday 4/4 - We got up really early so we could make it to the mission choir rehearsal on time.  We then had our weekly devotional.  Then we resumed our work (since all work zones were closed on Saturday - which was really nice!) and then that night we had our District Meeting.  On Monday our apartment got inspected by the "bed-bug dog", so we were not allowed in our apartments from the time we left (which was 6am) until dinner time (4:15pm) - so we went to have lunch in the Church Office Building (known as the COB) Cafeteria - which has really good food.
Tuesday 4/5 - We spent the day/night working our normal shifts in the work zone.
Wednesday 4/6 - We worked and we also had our regular Wednesday afternoon mission choir rehearsal.
Thursday 4/7 - We already went shopping and have completed our laundry.
Well it's been another good week here in the mission.  Hope everyone has a great week! :)

Hello Family and Friends,
Happy last day of March!  It's been another great week and I actually cannot believe it's already my p-day - this week has gone by really fast (I know I say this all the time, but this time it's actually true haha!).  Here's my week!
Thursday 3/24 - We went to a research class for the evening.
Friday 3/25 - We spent the day and night working in our regular work assignments.
Saturday 3/26 - We worked in the day and that evening we just hung out in our apartment courtyard which was fun.
Sunday 3/27 - We went to see Music and the Spoken Word - Easter/Messiah special - in the morning, had choir practice to practice the song we were going to sing in church, and then had church.  That night we had a dinner appointment with 2 other companionships and were hosted by senior sisters, which was really fun, and the food was really GOOD.
Monday 3/28 - We got up early so we could make it to the mission choir practice on time.  We then had our weekly devotional, worked, and then went to another zone's zone conference, because of some unexpected circumstances, which was that one of our apartment-mates unfortunately got medically released from his mission and had to be driven to the airport (our district leader was his companion, so he went to the airport with his companion).  We then helped another elder move into our apartment, so our Monday night was definitely hectic, but we got through it.
Tuesday 3/29 - We worked in our regular assignments during the day and night.
Wednesday 3/30 - We worked as usual and also had our Wednesday mission choir practice where we practiced some of our pieces for future devotionals and mission conferences.
Thursday 3/31 - We already went shopping and did our laundry this morning.
So lots of interesting, exciting, and hectic things happened this week.  I'm also looking forward to seeing what April will bring to the mission.  Love you all and have a great week! :)
