Hard to believe that it's
p-day again, even though it's been 12 days since I last wrote. We had
our transfers last week and I was completely affected - new companion,
new zone, new apartment, new p-day, etc. It has been an exciting 12
days though. Here's what has happened to me since my last p-day.
Thursday 4/21 - We worked in our (now my old!) work zone as usual that night.
Friday 4/22 - We spent that day and night working in our work zone.
Saturday
4/23 - We worked during the day - during our lunch hour - our district
leader took our district plus 4 other elders to a Scottish store in City
Creek which was pretty cool. That night we WERE gonna have sports, but
it was raining really hard and plus as we were about to walk near the
stake center, the fire alarm at the stake center was going off (I was SO
glad I had my umbrella!). We ended up having ice cream at another
elder's apartment.
Sunday 4/24 - We went to
see Music and the Spoken Word in the morning, had choir practice, and
then had church - that day was our Branch Conference day where we heard
from our branch president and stake president, where the branch choir
sang, and where we (all the young elders!) got to hear from Elder C.
Scott Grow from the 70. That evening we took a walk around Temple
Square which was fun.
Monday 4/25 - We got up
early so we could make it to the mission choir practice on time. We
then had our usual Monday morning devotional, worked in our zones, had
district meeting, and then I had to pack since I would be moving
apartments the next night.
Tuesday 4/26 - We
worked during the day and then we had the transfer conference - and like
I said - I was completely affected by the transfer - I got a new
companion (his name is Elder Lichtenstein - he's from Oregon, and he's
actually completing his mission this transfer - so I already know that
I'll have to get a new companion next transfer!), I'm in a new work zone
(I'm now in the Access Services zone, which is in the Family History
Library - and in that zone we help put away books, help guests find
books, we make sure that microfilms and books are in the correct order,
etc.). My p-day also changed from Thursday to Tuesday (which is why I
now write on Tuesdays!). That night I got all moved into my new
apartment and that did not take a long time since I was the only elder
who was moving into that apartment.
Wednesday
4/27 - We spent the day and night working in the NEW work zone and also
had choir practice that afternoon. So far it's fun being in the Family
History Library. I'm enjoying the elders (and seniors!) I work with.
Thursday 4/28 - We spent another busy day working in our work zones.
Friday
4/29 - We worked in the day and night and that day we also had our
apartment inspection and we did pretty well on that overall.
Saturday
4/30 - We worked during the day and then that night - all the young
elders got to see a Book of Mormon musical that was put together by a
stake in Sandy, Utah - it was performed in an auditorium in the
Conference Center. Saturday morning we had a little zone brunch to
celebrate the end of the mission for one of our senior elders. They
definitely like to feed us alot!
Sunday 5/1 - We went
to see the broadcast of Music and the Spoken Word in the morning, had
our branch choir practice, and then had our regular Sunday meetings.
That night we had a fireside where we heard from Robert Jacob (also
known as Piper Bob - he plays the bagpipes around Temple Square during
General Conference weekends!).
Monday 5/2 -
We got up early so we can make it to the mission choir practice on
time. We then had our Monday morning mission devotional, worked in our
work zones, and then had district meeting last night.
Tuesday 5/3 - This morning we got our shopping and laundry done.
As you all can see - it's been a busy but exciting past 12 days since I last wrote. Hope you all have a great week! :)
Hello Family and Friends,
Happy Tuesday! It's been another pretty good week here in Salt Lake. Here are the highlights of the week!
Tuesday 5/3 - We went to a research class that night and then helped with our closing duties in our zone.
Wednesday
5/4 - We spent the day and evening working in our zone and we also had
our usual Wednesday rehearsal with the Elijah Choir (the name of our
mission choir!).
Thursday 5/5 - We worked in
our zones and got to have lunch at the Church Office Building (or the
COB!) cafeteria since they were having tacos (in honor of Cinco De
Mayo!).
Friday 5/6 - We had another hardworking day in our work zone.
Saturday 5/7 - We worked in the zone during the day and then had our sports activity that night.
Sunday
5/8 - We went to see the rehearsal and broadcast of Music and the
Spoken Word in the morning. Later that morning we had our branch choir
rehearsal and then immediately had church where the branch choir sang.
After church I got to call home which was a highlight of my Sunday.
Monday
5/9 - Yesterday we got up at 5am so we could be to the Elijah Choir
rehearsal on time (6:15am!). We then had our weekly devotional with the
mission, worked in our zone, and then last night we had our zone
conference.
Tuesday 5/10 - This morning we did our shopping and then did our laundry. Now I'm emailing! :)
That was my week in a nutshell. These weeks just keep flying faster than I can even imagine. Have a great week! :)
Elder Frederickson
